The Need
Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Mount Everest, serves as the educational hub for children from surrounding villages. The current school building, constructed in 1985, is severely overcrowded with 120 students crammed into just three classrooms.
Children sit three to a desk designed for two, and classes are held in shifts to accommodate everyone. There is no library, no computer lab, and no space for science experiments or art projects. Teachers struggle to provide individual attention in these cramped conditions.
Many families in remote villages send their children to board in Namche specifically for education. Without adequate facilities, these children are not receiving the quality education they deserve, limiting their future opportunities.
